Obituary of Dioseri Gonzalez

Dioseri Gonzalez 76, of Amsterdam, New York, passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Dioseri was born in Puntarenas, Costa Rica to the late German Solano and Adoracion Flores. 

On August 6, 1963, she was united in marriage to Hugo Gonzalez, with whom she has shared the past 59 years. In July of 1987, Dioseri and Hugo moved with their family to Amsterdam area. 

After moving to the area, Dioseri began working at Bojud Knitting Mills in Amsterdam. After the mill’s closure, she began working at Amsterdam Ward Products until her retirement. 

A woman of great faith, Dioseri committed her life to serving the Lord and was a devout member of the Baptist Faith. Prior to coming to Amsterdam, she taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church in Alajuela, Costa Rica. She also served as President of the Women’s Association of the Baptist Convention of Costa Rica. After moving to Amsterdam Dioseri joined the Freedom Church of Amsterdam, where she was the Biblical Studies Teacher for many years. 

Dioseri leaves behind her loving family, including her husband, Hugo Gonzalez, her Children Eunice Gonzalez, Lydia R. Gonzalez, and Victor H. (Yvette Gonzalez Baldizon) Gonzalez, her Grandchildren, Victor David Gonzalez and Vanessa Gonzalez. Her sister Dulce Maria Meza of California, Juan V. Solano of Florida, Saray Spreer of California, and German A. Solano of Costa Rica. 

Relatives and friends are invited, and may call on Friday, July 7th, 2023, from 1pm until 3pm. At the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue Amsterdam, with Memorial Services to follow, presided by Reverend David Colon.
