Obituary of Margaret J. Vanderbeck

Margaret J. Vanderbeck, 84, of Amsterdam, formerly of Tribes Hill, NY and Sebring Florida, passed away on Friday June 2. 2023 at the EL Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam.

Born in Broadalbin, NY on May 8, 1939 a daughter of the late P.C. and A.M. Snyder Wells. She was a lifelong area resident, and graduated from Broadalbin High School and the former Amsterdam Practical Nursing Program.

Margaret was employed as an LPN in the Pediatric Department at the former Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.

She married Donald J. Vanderbeck who passed away in 2005. Survivors include her children, Karen L. Halvey, Kathleen (Thomas) Georgia and Mark Vanderbeck. Cherished grandchildren; Caitlin Vanderbeck (Mike), Briana Halvey (Debby), Brittany Auriemma (Nick), Matthew Georgia and Andrew Georgia. Great-grandchildren; Ava Auriemma, Jack Auriemma, Blaise Lundquist and John Lundquist.

Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
