Obituary of Lillian G. Randall

Mrs. Lillian G. Randall, 98 of Gloversville, New York, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home in Gloversville. She was born on June 4, 1924, to the late Charles and Minnie (Barclay) McClary.

Following graduation from High School, Lillian was married to the late Charles “Eddie” Griffith. She was employed by Taylor Awning Company in Gloversville as a talented seamstress for over 25 years. She was a beloved and dedicated employee that always walked to work in rain, snow or sun. She also enjoyed working with her late husband Robert Randall at the Glove Theater, where she could always be found greeting patrons with a warm smile.

Lillian’s kind nature carried on even after her death as her wish to give her body as an anatomical gift to Albany Medical College was fulfilled. Lillian was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed! She will be remembered for her generosity and graciousness, as she was always quick to give a compliment and make you feel special.

Her loving family includes her son, Orson Griffith (Shirley Clark), Grandsons Doug Griffith, Paul Griffith (Sophie), several great-grandchildren and her former daughter-in-law Carol Griffith as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. (Special recognition to Dorothy’s girls: Linda, Diana, Sally, also Lloyd, Mickey, Charlie & Stevie).

In addition to her parents and husbands Lillian was predeceased by her siblings; Helen (Peter) Vozekas, Dorothy (Roy) Betler, Charles McClary, Marion McClary and Esther (Tony) Arminio. She was also predeceased by her nephew Richard McClary for whom she lovingly cared for during his youth and nephews Gary Betler and Roger Betler.

In honor of Lillian being a lover of all animals, especially the stray cats she fed around her house in Gloversville, memorial contributions may be given to Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Rd., Sprakers, NY 12166

A period of visitation for Lillian will be held at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11 am which will be followed by a memorial service. Interment will take place following the service at Prospect Hill Cemetery, North Kingsboro Avenue, Gloversville.
