Obituary of Robert Lee Chase, Jr.

Robert Lee "Scooby" Chase, Jr; age 39, of Gloversville, died suddenly on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.

He was born August 31, 1983 in Gloversville, the son of Robert and Wendy (McMaster) Chase. He was proudly employed as assistant general manager at Friendly's, Johnstown, NY at the time of his death.  Admired and loved by all of his friends and family, he was the person to call when you needed help at any time. He was a devout father, son and brother, with a great sense of humor with an infectious laugh. He never left a room without saying "I love you".

Rob is survived by his father, Robert Chase (Jean); his mother, Wendy McMaster-Kern (Russell); stepfather, Robert Tortorello; his wife, Laura Chase; his four children, Selena Williams, Jonathan O'Conner, Lila Chase and Owen Chase; his siblings, Lisa Chase, Thomas Gifford, Dominic Tortorello (Heather) and Katelyn Tortorello; grandparents, Mary Chase and Beverly and Lawrence Tortorello; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 3 to 6 pm Thursday, June 1 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will follow at 6 pm with the Rev. Cynthia VanAllen officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Shriners Hospital, or Foothills Worship Center 305 Jansen Ave. Johnstown, NY 12095.
