Obituary of Everett Hanchett

Everett Hanchett Jr, 78, of Fultonville passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Palatine Nursing Home after a brief illness.

He was born on May 14, 1944 to Everett and Betty Hanchett in Latham. Everett attended Shaker High School in Latham before bravely enlisting in the United States Navy. He later attended technical school for welding and was eventually employed by Montgomery County Highway Department as a Mechanic until his retirement.  In his spare time, Everett dedicated his time as a Volunteer Fireman and Assistant Chief for the Rural Grove Volunteer Fire Department.

He was united in marriage to Miss Maureen Schutter on September 28, 1968.

During retirement, Everett loved to work on his Elk farm and spend time with his family. He always had a smile for anyone he met. 

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Maureen Hanchett, son Chad (Danielle) Hanchett of Sprakers, sisters: Annie (Jack) Coddington of Sprakers and Mikey (Larry) Ontiveros of Latham. He also leaves behind his granddaughter Ireland Hanchett, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In keeping with Everett's wishes there will be no services at this time. A private burial will take place at a later date.
