Obituary of Rev. William S. Rowe IV

Rev. William S. "Bill" Rowe IV, age 76, of Schenectady, died Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.

He was born August 28, 1946 in Albany and was a graduate of Mohanasen High School. Bill earned numerous advanced degrees in Business, Nursing, Nursing Administration and Divinity.

He was ordained as a minister in the United Methodist Church and served as Pastor in North Bush, Rotterdam Junction, Middleburgh and Fultonham.  He held numerous positions in his nursing career including Supervisor of Nurses and Director of Nurses at various hospitals and nursing homes throughout the area.

He was employed at the time of his passing as a Nursing Instructor for SUNY Schenectady, a position he truly loved. As with his parents, Bill’s professional life was dedicated to serving others.

Bill is survived by three sons, Scott Rowe (Jenny) of Forest Hill, MD; Brian Rowe of Schenectady and Adam Rowe of Gloversville; two grandchildren Maya and Qwen; three brothers, Mark Rowe, David Rowe and Donn Rowe (Rosanne); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sondra I. (Sturm) Rowe; his parents, Reverend William S. Rowe III and Lillian (Trainor) Rowe; and a sister, Joy Ellen Leach.

It was Bill’s request that there be no public service.
