Obituary of Craig T. Rhodes

Craig Thomas Rhodes, of Mayfield, a beloved father and grandfather, beloved brother, uncle and friend, passed from this world into the next on Saturday April 29, 2023, at the age of 67 surrounded by his loved ones.

Craig was born June 8th, 1955, at Nathan Littauer hospital into the arms of his loving parents Frank and Shirley Rhodes of Caroga Lake. Craig grew up in the area and had graduated from Johnstown high school. He was a very hard working and dedicated man. He worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones and was always there for them no matter what.

Craig was known for his infectious sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He had a larger-than-life personality and was the life of the party. He was a loyal friend that would do anything for those he cared about.  

He took great pride in his work and loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors and was always planning some adventure. He loved life, his family and enjoyed taking many pictures with his camera. He was always trying to capture the moments. He always looked for the opportunity to teach and to inspire those around him.

Craig will be deeply missed. His kindness, generosity, and his love for life will be remembered and cherished as a legacy of love and laughter that will reverberate through the hearts and lives of all who knew him.

Craig was welcomed into heaven by his parents, his dear friend Anna Cross and by his grandson William Drake.

Craig is survived by his siblings Dan Rhodes (Theresa), Sharon Diefendorf (Richard), Duane Rhodes (Susan), Darrell Rhodes (Irene) and Stephanie Pitonza (Greg).  His children Craig Rhodes, Laurabeth Rhodes, Sarah Cook, Justin Rhodes, Jesse Bowman, Elisha Ovitt and Joshua Waters.

He leaves behind a multitude of lifelong friendships with his nephews, nieces and loved ones far and wide. He loved you all more than you will ever know.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday May 13, 2023, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Foothills Worship Center, 305 Jansen Avenue, Johnstown, NY 12095.
