Obituary of Pedro Juan Rivera Mercado

Pedro Juan “Pellin” Rivera Mercado, 74, of Amsterdam, passed away March 24, 2023, at Albany Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico on April 20, 1948, he is the son of the late Dionisio Rivera Pabon and Crucita Mercado Ortiz.

Pellin is survived by his children Pedro J. Rivera, Ismael Rivera, Haydee Aguirre, and by his siblings Ana Rivera, Ana (Eca) Allemant, Mario Rivera, Jose Rivera, and M. Virgen Rivera.

Besides his parents, Pellin is predeceased by his daughter Damaris Rivera-De Arostegui.

Pellin was the life of the party and will continue to be in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 on Wednesday March 29, 2023, from 2 pm to 4 pm with a 4pm service to follow at the funeral home.
