Obituary of David L. Raut

David L. Raut, 68, of Amsterdam, New York, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023 at his home. Dave was born on December 31, 1954 in Syracuse, New York to the late Richard and Delores (Hare) Raut.

David worked as a baker for Freihofer's Baking Company in Albany for over 30 years.

On April 4, 2003 Dave was united in marriage to Cindy Bush, with whom he has shared the past 19 years. The pair enjoyed spending time together fishing, and traveling to Casinos where they liked to play slots. Dave adored his grandchildren, and always looked forward to playing games with his grandsons and having tea parties with his granddaughters as often as he could. In his younger years, Dave also liked to spend time hunting.

Dave’s loving family includes his wife, Cindy Raut; his step-children, Christopher (Jennifer) Miller, Eric (Jess) Haight, Sarah (Brad) Valachovic, and Colleen (Adam) Helmer; grandchildren, Christopher Miller, Matthew Miller, Nicholas Valachovic, Joshua Miller, Lucianno Innes, Arianna Haight, Lorenzo Innes, Andrew Valachovic, and Emily Miller; siblings, Richard J. Raut and Darlene (Roger) Landry; niece, Lisa (RJ) Laurenzo; nephew,William (Karen) Ormsby II; as well as many step-nieces and step-nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited, and may call on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 10:00AM until 12:00PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.
