Obituary of John Lee Curtis, Jr.
John Lee “Skip” Curtis, Jr., age 72, of Gloversville, NY, died February 19, 2023 at his home.
He was born September 23, 1950, in Gloversville, NY. He was the son of the late John Lee Curtis, Sr. and Joan Marie Passero. He was the oldest of 9 children. He served in the National Guard (Army Branch) and the reserves for approximately 13 years.
He was an avid musician and enjoyed playing the guitar, drums, and other various instruments. He shared this love of music with his other siblings. He was a member of the Gloversville Trinity Cadets Drum and Bugle Corp. where he played the rototom drum and snare drum. Throughout his life, Skip enjoyed playing in several bands within his community.
Skip is survived by his two daughters, Melissa McMiller and Thea Curtis; siblings, Don Curtis, Catherine Curtis, Marc Curtis, Lynn Markos-Moore and Janis Rex; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, one Godson and his beloved cat companion, Lucky.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Chris Curtis, Vincent Curtis, and David Curtis and one grandchild, Jace Kuder.
Interment will take place on June 17, 2023 at 10 am at the Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, NY.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home in Gloversville.
