Obituary of Otilia Gonzalez Perez

Otilia Gonzalez Perez, 79, of Amsterdam, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023, at her home in Amsterdam, surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born on November 9, 1943, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to Prudencio Gonzalez and Cruz Perez Gonzalez. She grew up in Altozano San Sebastián, Puerto Rico where she lived until relocating to Amsterdam with her family in 1989. 

Otilia was employed by Adirondack Knitting for several years before retiring.

In her spare time, she loved to dance and listen to music. She enjoyed cooking, attending church, and loved to travel to visit family. More than anything, Otilia loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters Gloria Lugo, and Ivette Claudio, her son Carlos Aleman, her grandchildren; Daniel Lopez, Jacqueline Reyes, Edgar Lopez, Jose Lopez, Carlos Rodriguez, Yvelisse Wonderlie, Ailani Aleman, Eliel Aleman, and Ilianis Aleman. She also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews as well as her brothers; Prudencio, Manuel, and Porfirio. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her siblings; Efrain, Carmen, Luz, and Maximino Gonzalez. 

Calling Hours will take place on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. A Service of Remembrance will take place at 1:00PM at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home with burial at St Michael's Cemetery in Amsterdam to immediately follow.
