Beverly Siegle

Obituary of Beverly Hart Siegle

Beverly Hart Siegle, 84 of Moneta VA, was called home to the Lord on November 21, 2022. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Carl, her parents Russell and Doris Savoie Hart and brother, Ralph. She is survived by her children Deborah Oare (Steve) of Moneta, VA and Jeffrey Siegle (Stacy) of Byron, GA; and granddaughters Julia Siegle of Germany and Morgan & Katelyn Brown Siegle of Byron, GA; as well as two step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren from upstate NY.

Beverly, formally a lifelong resident of upstate NY moved to VA with her family in 2018. She left behind a large network of friends, a busy social schedule, multiple flower gardens, church responsibilities, garden club & family activities as well as the latest craft she was going to class for.

She spent her childhood on the family farm in Mill Point NY, graduated and was married in 1956 living in the Fonda, NY. In 1977 she and Carl built a home in Johnstown where she lived until her move to VA.

Bev held multiple jobs throughout her life including at Templeton’s Glove Company early in her marriage. Her last and longest job was as a Physical & Occupational Therapy Aide for elementary children at HFM BOCES in Johnstown, NY. She loved her job, her kids and her co-workers and they loved her too. There were a lot of laughs and tears at her retirement party. Bev was also an avid gardener and member of the Kingsboro Garden Club. She held multiple offices including President and won multiple design awards. One of those included Best Design 2013 at the Fonda Fair, at which she had been an exhibitor for over 50 years. She and her husband had been members of the Sagandaga Swingers for which she made all of her beautiful square dance dresses and Carl’s matching ties. They had great dancing friends and loved playing practical jokes on each other. Fun and laughs were always had by all. She was a long time active member of St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in Fonda, NY serving on many committees, active in many groups, worked Bingo for many years, worked in the food pantry and was available for any of her church’s needs. She loved her pets having cows, horses, chickens, rabbits, pond and tank fish, and of course her many dogs & cats. Bev lived a full and active life and only a few highlights are mentioned here.

Along with her children and grandchildren, she leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews as well as a sister-in-law in Canajoharie, NY. She also leaves many wonderful memories behind with many longtime friends that she cherished and that cherished her. She will be sadly missed by so many.
