The memories I have of my grandpa are of me sitting in his lap while he drove around his job site in a forklift. And the other one is visiting him right before dad died. We stayed with him dec. 23, 2004 until Dec. 30, 2004. He kept trying to give his worldly possessions to Chris and I. We ate oranges picked right off a tree with him. I heard daddy worry about him right before he passed away. I remember grandpa at my dad's funeral. He held me close and said it would eventually turn out ok. Then I tried my hardest to keep in contact with him. At one point I was so worried. I lived in NY and he still lived in Tampa but I lost contact due to a change in phone numbers. Then I tried for years finding him only to later learn he was in a dementia hospital in Amsterdam. As soon as I was able I went to see him. The very last memory I have of him is him holding me close in a hug, him giving me a kiss to the forehead and a good bye and I love you. I am sad he is gone but I am ok because I got a good bye from him.
