Obituary of Armetta Betty Dillenbeck
Mrs. Armetta Betty Dillenbeck, 96, of Fort Plain, New York passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at her home after a week of celebration with her family beside her. She was the last surviving of 17 children.
She was born on February 12, 1926 in the Town of Little Falls, New York to George Mosher and Maude Herringshaw Mosher.
Armetta married Harland V. Dillenbeck on February 27, 1943. Together they remained in the Fort Plain area where they raised their eight children.
She is survived by her children; Earl V. Dillenbeck, Harland V. Dillenbeck Jr., Bessie M. Knoblauch, Oliver G. Dillenbeck (Willie) Danny J. Dillenbeck (Nancy), Burton A. Dillenbeck, and Rebecca D. DeSimone (Michael). Armetta had two special sons-in-law; Everett and Michael who she loved as her own. She also leaves behind thirty grandchildren, sixty-three great grandchildren, and thirty-three great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Armetta was preceded in death by her parents, 16 siblings, as well as her youngest son John Dennis Dillenbeck who passed away in 1982, daughters-in-law Gretchen Dillenbeck and Cheryl Dillenbeck, and son-in-law Everett Knoblauch.
A graveside service will take place at Rural Park Cemetery in Ingham Mills Station in the spring.
