Obituary of Roger Scott Hildreth Sr.

Roger Scott Hildreth Sr, 57 , of Canajoharie, New York passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022. He was born on March 7, 1965 in Amsterdam, New York to Mr. Jon Paul Hildreth Sr. and Mrs. Joyce Tesiero Hildreth.

A lifelong area resident Roger attended the former Bishop Scully High School before enlisting in the US Army where he served his nation proudly for eight years during the Gulf War. Roger married his High School sweetheart, Christina Schietromo on June 27, 1984.

Roger was employed as Property Manager of Canajoharie Apartments for 28 years, in his spare time he dedicated himself as a member of the Memorial Squad and served several offices in the Local American Legion.  He loved music, enjoyed barbecues, fishing, playing bass and was a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan. More than anything Roger loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who knew him as "Grandpa Zepplin". He was a member of the Roman Catholic faith.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years; Christina Hildreth, children; Roger Hildreth Jr (Shannon), Melissa May (Vinny), Peter Hildreth (Olga), father Jon Paul Hildreth Sr, Siblings; Jon Paul Hildreth Jr. (Kimberly), Anita Filbeck (Art), Elizabeth Mack (Brian), and Joe Hildreth. His beloved grandchildren include; Max, Jaxon, Gabriel, Evan, and Taylor. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 12:00PM at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church 115 Reid St, Fort Plain, NY 13339. A calling hour will precede the service beginning at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Hope. Interment will take place at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery in the spring.
