Obituary of Philip W. Andrews
Philip W. Andrews, 59, of Fonda, New York, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2022 at Mountain Valley Hospice, with his loving family by his side. Philip was born on June 21, 1963 in Gloversville to James P. Sr. and Rose M (Hayes) Andrews.
Philip worked for over 12 years with Lexington ARC. Within those dozen years, Philip worked as a custodian in various houses in the Gloversville, Albany, and Feura Bush areas, primarily as a painter. He took pride in working with the residents of these homes to learn their favorite colors, patterns, and designs to customize each resident’s rooms to their own personal tastes.
Throughout his life, Philip loved participating in all kinds of sports; especially golf, basketball, racquetball, and especially bowling. Philip had even bowled in the US Amateur Bowling Championship.
Philip leaves behind his loving family, including his wife, Barbara Ann Andrews; his daughter, Brittany Lynn (Andrews) Tubbs, and her husband, Harold; his grandchildren, Chase William "Chunkamunk" and Mackenzie “Sissy” Tubbs; his father, James P. Andrews Sr.; siblings, Victoria Lynn Bowden, James Andres Jr., and Cynthia Skonieczny; siblings in-law, Lacinda (Bobby) Irvin, Bonnie Rave, and Stanley Barnes; his close niece, Casey (William) Irvin; close friends, Larry, Patrick, and Jeffrey; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in passing by his mother, Rose M. (Hayes) Andrews; parents in-law, Stanley and Patricia Barnes; brother in-law, William Rave; and nephews, James Andrews III and Jordan Rave.
Philip's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses at Mountain Valley Hospice, especially to Brian and Heather, for their compassion and dedication to Philip in his last several months he shared.
