Obituary of Walter James Weil

Walter James Weil, 78, died unexpectedly on December 9, 2022, surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, December 23, 2022, from 1:00-5:00 pm at the Century Club, 130 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY. Walter was born February 27, 1944, in Amsterdam, NY. He received his education from Amsterdam High School and then joined the Army, being stationed primarily in Germany. He lived in Florida for most of his life, but recently returned home to be near family. He was a kind and compassionate person with a great sense of humor. Walter is survived by sisters Lynne (James) Frye, Sharon Fisher, Lorraine Getman, brother John (Laurie) Sheckton, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be missed and we will always carry his memory in our hearts.
