Obituary of Mary Malkowich

Mary Malkowich, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2022 in Houston, Texas after a lengthy illness. 

Mary was born on July 3, 1928 in Amsterdam, New York where she resided until 2005, when she moved to Houston, Texas with her husband to live with her daughter. 

Mary had been employed by the State of NY, Mohasco Industries and Electro-Metrics prior to her retirement.  She was a parishioner of the former St. Casimir's Church in Amsterdam and more recently of St. Catherine of Siena in Houston, Texas. 

Mary's main interest was her beloved family but she also enjoyed reading, knitting, doing puzzles was an avid sports fan. 

She married Albert Malkowich on October 19, 1952.  They were married for 53 years prior to his passing in 2006. 

Mary is survived by her son David Malkowich (Donna) of Greenwood, Indiana, her daughter Lynn M. Austin (Bob) of Houston, Texas and grandchildren Brett Malkowich (Suzanne) of Denver, Colorado, Lauren Dunlap (Brian) of Noblesville, Indiana, Jeremy Austin (Elizabeth) of Houston, Texas and Gregg Austin (Sierra) of Fridley, Minnesota. 

She also has eight great grandchildren that she knew and loved so much; Avery Malkowich, Bryce and Natalie Dunlap, Everley, Lucia and Fletcher Austin, and Reede and Sage Austin. 

A Service of Remembrance will take place on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 11:00AM at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave Amsterdam, NY 12010. Preceding the service friends are welcomed to pay their respects at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Interment will take place at St Casimir’s Cemetery immediately following the service.
