Obituary of Jack Prill

Mr. Jack Prill, 67, of Ft. Johnson, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on December 1, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Jack was born on November 13, 1955 a son of the late Joseph Prill and Beverly Martin Demars.

He was a lifelong area resident and was a 1973 graduate of Amsterdam High School. Jack was first employed at Mohasco in Amsterdam for 7 years. He then was employed by the New York State Office for Technology until his retirement in 2014.

Jack enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, fishing and camping in the Adirondacks. He enjoyed playing Darts, Softball and Bowling and was active in many leagues in Gloversville and Amsterdam.

He was predeceased by his Father Joseph Prill, his Mother, Beverly Martin Demars, Stepfather, Joseph Demars and sister, Judith Prill Jones. He was also predeceased by his beloved cat, “Miss Kitty”

Survivors include his sister, Patricia (Sally) Prill of Tribes Hill, NY and brother, Chris (Gwen) Prill of Millbrook, NY. Stepsisters, Jean (Les)Terwilleger of Kentucky, Theresa (James) Arthurs of Amsterdam, NY and Elizabeth (Joseph) Tesiero of Broadalbin, NY and Stepbrother Joseph Demars Jr. of Amsterdam, NY. Niece, Jennifer Jones of Johnstown, NY, Niece and Goddaughter, Jacqueline Jones of Amsterdam. Great niece, Jasmine Ricci, of Amsterdam, NY. His longtime friend, David Greco of South Carolina. Several cousins, step-nieces and step-nephews also survive.

A Service and Celebration of Life for Jack will be held on Saturday December 10th, 2022 at 2:00PM at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with the Rev. Dr. John A. Califano presiding. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday prior to the service from 11:00AM to 2:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held on Friday May 12, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Pine Grove Cemetery, Mohawk Drive, Tribes Hill, NY with the Rev. Dr. John A.
