Obituary of Marion Ann Cole
Marion Ann Cole 83, passed away on November 28th with loving family by her side. She was born on February 10th, 1939 in South River NJ. She recently became a resident of Johnstown NY but spent most of the last 40 years at her home on the Goodnowflow, in Newcomb, NY.
On September 27th 1958 she married William F. Cole and for 39 years they remained dedicated to each other until his passing on January 6th 1998. In 2000 she met Donald Brandow of Selkirk, NY who became her devoted husband for her remaining years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 daughters, Chris (Lyle) Zweigle of Farmington, CT Sandy (Billy) Austin of Johnstown, NY and Ronnie (Erwin) Brace of Newcomb, NY. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren who were all the light of her life, Kristin (Josh) Marino, Will (Dalli) Brown , Jason (Jess) Brown, Nathan Brown and fiancé Jackie Betters, Chance Steele, Charlene (Marshal) Relyea and Tiffanny (MJ) Shilanski. 10 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews will also miss her.
She was predeceased by 1 brother Joseph Skiba ,her sister Victoria Neciunas and three grandsons, Michael Zweigle, David Zweigle and Jodi Steele.
Her family and camp on the Goodnow Flow were the center of her life where all were always welcome with open arms and her incredible smile. She will forever be remembered for her love for new adventures and how she so enjoyed all the wonderful people she met along the way. She was a square dancer, clogger, biker, quilter, gardener, enjoyed fishing, kayaking, canoeing, snowshoeing but one of her greatest passions was hiking the beautiful high peaks of her beloved Adirondack Mountains perhaps it was because it let her feel closer to God, and all the amazing wonders of His world.
Marion’s family will have a period of visitation for relatives and friends from 11:00AM to 12:00 Noon, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY with a memorial service following at noon with Ninja Sagarese officiating.
Interment will take place in the spring at the convenience of her family.
