Obituary of Domenic Marzio

Domenic Marzio, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday November 26, 2022 at age 82.  He was born in the Bronx, NY on September 25, 1940 the son of the late Giuseppe and Giuseppina Marzio. 

He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1958.  Domenic  served in the US Army from 1959 to 1961.  He was employed for the NY City Transit Authority in the Bronx for over 20 years.

He absolutely loved his family.  He loved to spend time at camp on the Great Sacandaga Lake.  Domenic wasn’t happy unless he was actively working on a project.   He enjoyed making wine, was a fan of karaoke and was the life of any party.  “He was truly the best dad a guy could ask for.   You will be greatly missed by all who knew you.  Until we meet again Papa!”

Domenic  was the loving husband of  Mattia Marzio of Amsterdam, devoted father of,  Joseph (Jennie) Marzio of Watervliet and “Nonno”  to his expected grandson, Theodore Domenic Marzio.  He is also survived by a sister, Josephine (Antonio) Politi,  sister-in-law, Paula (Henry) Auspelmyer,and  brother-in-law, Anthony Minnitti.  Aunts, Eva Zema and Marion Zema along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

Domenic was predeceased by uncles, Joseph and Anthony Zema, his best friend Stefano Tramontana and his mother- in-law and father- in- law, Bruno and Giovanna Minnitti and a sister-in-law, Nancy Minnitti

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday December 2, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main St. Amsterdam with Fr. Marcin (Martin) Kordel, CRL as celebrant.   Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Cemetery Rd., Amsterdam, NY.  Calling hours are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY.   Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com.
