Dear Eileen Rovito,
My heart goes out to you, and your family. I am so sorry for your loss of your husband, Kevin. I was at St. Lawrence U. when Kevin was there, and I appreciated his genuineness, kindness, and humor. I was also studying in the P.E. Program.
One of my jobs at college was in the laundry room, at the gym. When the football players would drop off their uniforms, I surely remember some interesting and fun chats with Kevin. He was such a good man.
It sounds like he had an amazing life, and I am so happy to have met Kevin, along the way.

Kevin was a long time friend of my husband, Jeff King and a wonderful coach for my son, Robert Tangen, Bibby to many. Kevin was a wonderful mentor to our son and a great friend. Kevin was a significant presence in the lives of many. Because of him, the three children of mine who attended school in Mayfield have had a lifelong passion for physical activity- walking, hiking, skiing, cycling. Because of him, so many other students also benefited form the way he taught not just through instruction and coaching, but also by example. He was a valued colleague during my teaching career in the Mayfield Central School District. After his retirement, he went on teaching as taught all of us how to persevere and how to live the gift of life every day.
During his lifetime, he was a blessing to many. May his memory also be for a blessing.

Doug and I are so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful teacher, father, husband and coach. I worked with Kevin and Eileen at Mayfield HS as the principal and they were teachers and coaches. We had a lot of fun times … we worked hard and played hard… most importantly they were always there for the kids first. They were a great team on the court and in life. For more than 10 years they battled a relentless opponent … they did it together with grace and courage. We will all miss Kevin… but he left a lot behind through touching all of our lives. Eileen … we all love you and if you feel alone for one second remember there are hundreds of arms wrapped around you always ….

He was my very first coach, playing basketball in 5th grade when I first moved to Mayfield; introducing me to the world of sports and athletics. My biggest accomplishments were directly because of this great man being the best coach he could be. He was a role model to me as well as So many others.
