Obituary of Phyllis F. Calkins
Phyllis F. Calkins, 78, of Fultonville passed away on November 7, 2022, at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Fultonville on December 19, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Luella (Hoffman) Carpenter.
Phyllis is survived by her loving Husband whom she united in marriage with on December 25, 1963, Gerald R. Calkins of Fultonville, her loving children Darcy (Earl) Bassett of Fultonville, Matthew (Wendy) Calkins of Mayfield and Justin (Angie) Calkins of Fultonville. Her loving grandchildren Jessica (Michael), Aimee (Justin), Corey, Briana, Lucas, MacAllister, Kristina (Beth), Dylan, Stephanie, and Jack. Her loving great grandchildren Khloe, Brayden, Kinley, Ben, Nora, Estelle, Elijah, Grace and Sterling. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and her two brothers in law Albert Quackenbush and Eddie Morse.
Besides her parents Phyllis is predeceased by her brothers Jack Carpenter, Eddie Carpenter, Kenny Carpenter, Harry Carpenter, and her sisters Gertrude Potter, Doris Hitchcock, Grace Blair, Rhonda Morse, Lena Jones, Helen Quackenbush, and Geraldine Carpenter.
During her lifetime Phyllis was a 1961 graduate of Fonda Fultonville High School. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, camping, reading books, playing card games, puzzles, visiting the casino and the ocean.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday November 12, 2022, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Jackson & Betz Family Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072 with a funeral service at the funeral home at 1 pm with burial to follow in the family plot at the Maple Avenue Cemetery.
