Obituary of Diana Capobianco
Mrs. Diana Capobianco, 84, of Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on October 25, 2022. Born in Yonkers, NY on Christmas Eve, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Vasily and Christine Kozier Vitvitsky.
On May 10, 1959 she was married to the love of her life, Peter E. Capobianco. In the early 80’s the couple moved to Amsterdam from Yonkers.
Diana was an active parishioner of Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. She also took great pride in running St. Mary’s Hospital gift shop for many years, and was active with the Auxiliary. Diana was also an accomplished seamstress, and took great pride in making her own clothes. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her son, Peter N. Capobianco; and her siblings, Eileen Ford and Anatole Vitvitsky.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years, Peter; her daughter, Rosemarie Kilinski and her husband Thomas; extended family members, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, October 28th, 2022 at 1p.m. at Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. and Rev. Martin Kordel, CRL. Private burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, 427 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY or the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
