Obituary of Dale G. Brown

Dale G. "Bump" Brown, age 77, of Gloversville, died Monday, October 24, 2022 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.

He was born April 9, 1945 in Union Dale, PA; the son of the late Gilbert and Bertice (McPherson) Brown. He was a graduate of Brockport University and then served in the US Army in Vietnam. Dale was employed as Area Manager of 21 branches of Key Bank in upstate New York and Vermont for 25 years. He was manager of the Speculator branch of NBT Bank until his retirement in 2010. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, watching movies and the Golden Girls.

Dale was a member of the North Main St. United Methodist Church, former Trustee of Plattsburgh United Methodist Church, Plattsburgh Rotary Group Study Exchange, the former Broadalbin Rotary, Unity Masonic Lodge of Hudson, Oriental Shrine, ANCA Board, and was current Vice President and former Treasurer of the Fulton County Museum Board.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joanne M. (Saxton) Brown; two children, Kimberly Gittens of Gloversville and Mark Brown (Darcie) of Melbourne, FL; three grandchildren, Victoria Brown, Cora Brown and Jacob Brown; three siblings, Edward Brown (Barbara), Gerald Brown (Debra) and Marilyn Baish (Louis); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, November 1st at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville where a Funeral Service will take place at 11 am Wednesday.

Interment will take place at the convenience of the family Gerald BH Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
