Obituary of Andy Aldi

        Andy Aldi, 72, of Hagaman, NY,   passed away on Wednesday October 12, 2022 at Westchester Medical Center following a brief illness.

     Born in Amsterdam the son of the late Andrew and Rosemond Litchfield Aldi.  He was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. He went on to graduate from Fulton–Montgomery Community College in Johnstown, NY.    He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1974.  He then served in the US Army until he was honorably discharged.

     Andy was employed for many years as Highway Supervisor for the Montgomery County Highway Department in Fonda, NY.

     He was a “Jack of all Trades” and enjoyed helping everyone.  He enjoyed fixing and building things around his home and above all he enjoyed caring for others.  He was a member of the John J. Wyszomirski American Legion Post #701 in Amsterdam.

     Andy married Dona Osterhout Warfield-Aldi.  In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his children, Andrew (Bonnie) Aldi, Matthew (Kristina) Aldi, Daniel Aldi, and  Angela (Miranda) Aldi.  Step-children, Ginger (Greg) Warfield, Russell Warfield, Jennifer (Bill) Warfield, Sister, Linda Aldi, Sister-in- law,  Shelley Drozinski.  Cherished grandchildren, Heather (Greg) Miller, Jayden and Nikolas Aldi, John (Stacy) Crowther, Harley (Bryan) Alisauski, Matthew Aldi Jr., Azia Aldi, Tayler Hoyt, Cody Aldi,  Bill and Matthew Sievert and Taylor Warfield.  Great-Grandchildren, Kaylee, Braydon and Greg.   Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.     He was also predeceased by a sister, Donna Forinash.  

     Funeral services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Ave, Suite 1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222,  the John J. Wyszomirski  American Legion Post #701, 123 West Main St., Amsterdam, NY 12010 or the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box,484,  Amsterdam, NY 12010.
