Obituary of Emma Marie Ficili

Mrs. Emma Marie Ficili, age 93, of Johnstown, New York, died on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown.

She was born on January 21, 1929 in Gloversville, New York, the daughter of Frank and Patricia (Spencer) Trippoda. After high school she was employed as a glove maker by Harding and Harris of Gloversville. Emma was a devout Catholic and member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and enjoyed spending her rare moments of free time crocheting and knitting.

Emma is survived by her children: Marie Wicklund, Frank Ficili, Patricia Hitchcock (Walter), Michael Ficili, and Sheri McCloskey; her grandchildren: Kenneth Wicklund (Jamie), Jayson Ficili, Frank Ficili (Danielle) Rebecca Golden (Matthew), John VanDermark, Brian VanDermark, Kevin VanDermark, Jaclyn McCloskey, Jacob McCloskey; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister: Dolores DeRosa, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband: Michael Ficili, her parents, Frank and Patricia Trippoda; brother and sister-in-law George and Jean Trippoda, brother-in-law John DeRosa, son-in-law Michael McCloskey

Services for Emma will be held privately for her family members with interment next to her husband at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
