Obituary of Peter Gierszewski

Peter C. “Pete” Gierszewski, age 47, of Gloversville, New York, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, New York with his loving wife by his side.

He was born on June 23, 1975 in Brooklyn, the son of Chester and Anna Gierszewski. He was a graduate of Fonda High School and went on to earn a few Associate Degrees at Bryant & Stratton College. Growing up he often helped out in his father’s shoe store, Chester's Shoe Service in Gloversville/Johnstown, and he was a member of the Polkabration Dancers. He was so proud to be Polish! He was self-employed for most of his adult life, owner of Enhanced Computer Services, and a jack of all trades. If he didn’t know how to do something, he would google it and figure it out. He enjoyed playing in a pool league for many years and always loved to golf. He was a member of the Vrooman’s Golf League in Caroga Lake. Most of his family lives in Arizona and one day he had hoped to move there. He loved the weather there and absolutely adored his family.

Peter is survived by his wife, Jennifer Gierszewski; his parents, Chester and Anna Gierszewski; his sister, Beata Bogdan; and his nephews, Anthony and Peter Bogdan; as well as many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his Maternal Grandparents, Jan Pluciennik and Krystyna Kotas-Pluciennik; and his Paternal Grandparents, Julian Gierszewski and Marianna Witkowska.

Pete was a friend to everyone and always liked to help people. As part of his legacy, I know he would encourage anyone with symptoms of poor liver function, or any illness for that matter, to not ignore them and see a medical professional. Please use him as an example of why it’s so important to do this sooner rather than later. He will be smiling down on all of us if this helps even one person make the right decision to seek help.  

Cremation has taken place at Parkview Cemetery Crematorium in Schenectady, NY.

 

A celebration of life will be held on October 8^th at Loopie’s Irish Pub (outdoor pavilion) in Tribes Hill, NY from 1-5 pm.
