Obituary of Lynda Beryl Flanger

Lynda Beryl Flanger, age 79, of Mayfield, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at her home following a long illness.

She was born April 19, 1943 in Cuba, NY, the daughter of the late Rev. Milton Paul and Hannora Lillian (Lineburg) Seeger.  Lynda graduated from Mayfield Central School, class of 1959. She went on to study chemistry and English at Keuka College, class of 1963. Lynda studied Industrial Administration at Union College earning her Masters, class of 1975.  She received professional recognition as an innovative software engineer, culminating in her leadership of a significant NATO Communications project while at Lockheed Martin. Lynda’s life-passions were travel and bridge.  She was an avid bridge player, achieving Silver Life Master status while simultaneously exploring the globe by land, air, and sea.

Lynda is survived by two children, Tara Flanger Caraco (Jon) of Mayfield and Aaron Flanger (Beth Jackson) of Latham; 5 grandchildren, Brandon Yager (Allie), Haley Woodruff (Cameron), Riley Yager (Taryn), Ashley Flanger (Jordan), and Mitchell Flanger as well as 7 great grandchildren; all of whom brought her great joy.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her second husband, John D. Creasy.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville, with the Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating. Interment will follow at Mayfield Cemetery.
