Obituary of Lawrence R. Cline
Mr. Lawrence R. Cline, age 68, of Gloversville, New York, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at his home following a battle with ALS.
Larry was born on September 2, 1954 in Amsterdam, New York, the son of Robert and Natalie (Intonte) Cline. He graduated from Gloversville High School, Class of 1973, and went to work for Benjamin Moore in Johnstown, NY which he retired from after 25 years. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Barbara, for over 45 years and they enjoyed traveling and spending time at their summer home at Mountain Lake. He enjoyed spending winter months in Myrtle Beach golfing and spending time with close friends. He also loved fishing, cooking, golfing, hunting, going to the casino and could always be found on the dance floor!
Lawrence is survived by his wife: Barbara (Fisher) Cline; their daughter: Melissa (Evan Cavanaugh) Cline; his father: Robert L. Cline; his siblings: Gary (Nadine) Cline, Debra (Kostas) Papagiannopoulos, Lori (Gary) Leith, Robert Cline, Mark (Angie) Cline, and Eric (Angi Williams) Cline; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend who was like a brother to him: Bob Henze.
Larry was predeceased by his mother: Natalie (Intonte) Cline.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00AM to 12:00 noon, on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY for a period of visitation. A Funeral Service will follow at noon with the Rev. Dr. R. W. Williams officiating.
Interment will take place privately, at a later date.
Contributions may be made in memory of Larry to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078, or to St. Peter's ALS Regional Center, 19 Warehouse Row, Albany, NY 12205.
Larry's family would like to extend a special thanks to everyone at the St. Peter’s Regional ALS Center in Albany, NY and the nurses and support staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for their care and assistance.
Also thank you to all of the friends and family for their love and support during Larry’s illness.
