Obituary of Russell C. Snyder

Russell C. Snyder, 42, of Log City Road, Amsterdam, NY passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 21, 2022 as the result of an accident.

Born on April 22, 1980 he was the son of the Paul and Margaret “Peggy” Martin Snyder.  A lifelong area resident, Russ graduated from Mayfield Central School.  He graduated in 2002 from the State University of New York.  Following the birth of his first son, Russ made the decision to return to school and pursue a career as a Math Teacher.  For the last nine years, Russ has been employed by the Greater Johnstown School District teaching middle and high school math, a career that he loved.

Russ will be remembered for always being a dedicated husband and father.  He loved his family and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Heather; two sons at home, Zachary and Jameson; his parents Paul and Peggy Snyder; his sister, Tabetha Mead and her two daughters; close cousins, Jeremy (Tobi) Snyder and Kelly (Kim) Snyder; his mother and father-in-law, Roberta and David Sargood; his brother-in-law, Justin (Susie) Sargood; many close family, cousins and friends.

A Service of Remembrance will take place on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 12p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Wetsel officiating.  Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 3 until 7p.m. at the funeral home.  All are invited to attend.

Private burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.
