Obituary of Eileen M. Whitford

Mrs. Eileen M. Swiatek Whitford, 70, of Hagaman, NY died peacefully on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 following a brief illness.  Born in Amsterdam on August 2, 1951 she was the daughter of the late John and Nellie Vitus Swiatek.

A lifelong area resident, Eileen attended local schools and was employed at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital and later Price Chopper until her retirement.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her brother, John Swiatek on May 25, 2015.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Richard A. Whitford; loving nephews, Peter and Jeff; her lifelong friends, Marie Gieseler Kajdan and Alata Van Antwerp; and many cousins.

The family wishes to thank Mrs. Diane Vecchio and the medical staff at St. Mary’s Healthcare Emergency Department and Intensive Care for their extraordinary care.

Services for Eileen will take place on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 11a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
