Obituary of Alan C. Sharpe
Alan Christopher “Sharpie” Sharpe, 53, of Fonda, NY, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2022 at home. Alan was born on September 14, 1968 in Boston, Massachusetts.
On February 11, 2000, Alan was united in marriage to Patricia Moxham, who he had loved dearly from the moment they met eight years prior. The pair had shared the past 30 years together, in total.
Alan worked at Wal-Mart Distribution Center #6096 in Johnstown for the past 15 years. Throughout his career he held many positions within the warehouse, and spent the past several years working in Asset Protection. He took immense pride in his work, and made sure to greet every coworker with a friendly smile every day.
Alan loved to spend his time watching any sporting event, but above all he was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. When he wasn’t watching a game, Alan loved to spend his time in the great outdoors, around his property, and collecting Budweiser memorabilia. He also made sure to take advantage of every opportunity to visit the ocean with Patricia.
“Sharpie,” as he was known by all of his family and friends, will be remembered as a wonderful, loving husband, an amazing father, an incredibly proud grandfather, and a friend to all that got a chance to know him. He will be dearly missed.
Alan’s loving family includes his wife, who he always referred to as “My Love,” Patricia A. Sharpe; his sons, Joshua, Justin (Kerri), and Zachary; his grandson, Jakob who he lovingly referred to as “Peanut”; his step-mother, Harriet Sharpe; his siblings, Andrew Sharpe, Albert Sharpe, and Laurie Chase; his beloved fur babies, Itty Bitty and Marley Mae; his 6096 family; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Alan is preceded in passing by his father, Alex Sharpe, his brother, Wayne Sharpe, as well as by his parents in-law, who always treated him like their own son, Albert and Marjorie Moxham.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on July 22, 2022 from 3:00PM until 6:00PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Alan’s memory to the ASPCA online at https://www.aspca.org/ways-to-give.
