Obituary of Linda Joy Araujo

Linda Joy Araujo, 64, of Fonda passed away on June 18, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Linda was born on June 13, 1958, in Fall River Massachusetts.  

Survived by her loving husband whom she married on April 5, 1974, Henry J. Araujo Jr of Fonda, and by her children Henry (Kristi) Araujo of Ephratah, John (Julie) Araujo of Fonda, Dorothy (Ken) Chicoski of Glen and Ashley (Thomas) Wulforst of Hammonton, NJ. Brothers David Askew of Washington, and Glenn (Ann) Askew of Somerset MA. Also, by her loving grandchildren whom she adored Henry IV, Kayleigh, Johnnie, Olivia, Eli, Teresa, Isaac, Adalind, and Saoirse. Linda is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Linda is predeceased by her brother Robert Askew Jr; and sister Dorothy “Dodie” Askew. 

Linda was a communicant of St. Cecelia’s Roman Catholic Church in Fonda. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be missed by all. 

A memorial mass will take place on Saturday June 25, 2022, at 10 am at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 26 Broadway, Fonda, NY 12068 with Fr. Christopher Welch the celebrant. A small gathering will follow mass in the church hall. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Jackson & Betz Family Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072.
