Obituary of Hugh R. Buyce

Hugh R. Buyce, 91, of Johnstown, N.Y. passed away Friday June 17, 2022.

Born in Wells, N.Y. on June 25, 1930 a son of the late Robert and Myrtle Knapp Buyce.

Hugh served in the Army from 1951 to 1953, Battery D-69^th AAA Gun Battalion in Fort Tilden, N.Y.

Hugh worked as a carpenter and also for various logging companies, then in later years for the town of Speculator at the Highway Department.

Hugh enjoyed being with nature and loved his many years living in Speculator. He lived in his log cabin home that family helped him build.

Hugh never did marry but had many friends he enjoyed visiting with at local coffee shops.

Survivors include one sister Elsie Floyd of Gloversville, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews.

Hugh was predeceased by siblings Marion, Helen, George, Joyce, Bernard, and Eleanor.

A graveside service of life will be held at Alogonquin Cemetery in Wells, N.Y. on Friday July 1st, 2022 at 11:00AM.    A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday July 3^rd at 2p.m. at his sister Elsie's house.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Fulton County Regional SPCA, 117 West Fulton Street, Gloversville, N.Y.
