Obituary of Patrica A. Shults
Patricia A. Shults, 77, died on May 26, 2022 after a short illness. Patricia was born in New York City on January 12, 1945. Patricia lived in Ticonderoga for her formative years graduating from Ticonderoga High School in 1962. She attended Casanova College and was a Private in the Women’s Army Corps until February 1966. She worked for the Girl Scouts of America, Adirondack Girl Scout Council teaching camping and canoeing and the Doane Stuart School. She also worked at Nathan Littauer Hospital Pharmacy alongside her father who was the pharmacist. When Pat entered into sobriety she worked at Conifer Park and at St. Mary’s Hospital Drug and Alcohol Treatment Unit, she retired in August 2017.
Pat lived her truth and encouraged others to do the same with very direct and sometimes unwelcome advice which was almost always correct. When she loved you she did it fully and unconditionally. She was proud of her sobriety which she maintained for 41 years. Her life of sobriety was a model for others as they began their sobriety journeys.
She is survived by her family, Gloria and Dr. Lori Noto (Albert Corpus). Her childhood friend, Sarah Aunchman and her surrogate daughter, Meaghan Divers. She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Amy (Davies) Shults.
Her family is grateful for the love and support she received from our family and friends, especially Edward Delliveneri and Marnel Lewis and her crew, and the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice. We are forever grateful to the staff at Amsterdam Family Health Center, especially Cheryl Sparks and Dr. Michael Sheridan.
