I have been a life long friend from Canjo of Mel's & it saddens me deeply to learn of her passing. I knew her health struggles & admired her on going fight, positive attitude & resolve that helped her each day.
Attending St. Mark's Lutheran Church together since early childhood, in Sunday school we would often be giggling which always led us being scolded by the Pastor's wife, Mrs. Hammer....& then, of course, we continued giggling. Typical Swanson & Herron.
As the years flew by, we stayed in touch & I was happy to spend our 40th Class of 77' reunion with her, our close buddy, Tracy Drach & dear friend Stephanie Burgess. We laughed, reminisced & hugged, often. Oh those hugs.
Here's to an exemplary life very well lived & she was & remains a great, life long friend which is more valuable than ANY other material components in life.
I pray for her daughter & sweet grandkids for their hearts to heal soon. I pray I'm able to visit with Mel upstairs when my time is finished.
RIP my dear, sweet friend. I love ya !
