Obituary of John F. Kline
Mr. John “Jack” F. Kline, 81, formerly of Wells, passed away on Friday morning April 8, 2022 at the Eddy Village Green at Cohoes following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born on August 7, 1940 a son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth Furman Kline. He was raised in Amsterdam, NY and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School class of 1958. He went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University.
John served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Chicago and served in country in Saigon and received a Bronze Star for his service.
He was employed in management at the former Champion International Paper Co. in Shelton, CT. He resided throughout his life in Chicago, IL., Shelton, CT., and Wells, NY.
John was of the Roman Catholic Faith. He was a member of the Lake Pleasant Golf League and the VFW of Lake Pleasant.
He married his first wife Diane, who passed away in 2001. He then was married to his wife Sybil who passed away in 2009.
Survivors include his step-children, Gail (Chris) Gabriels, Marie (Eric) Knochenhauer, James (Diane) Greenwood, and Jane (Tim) Barry. Sister-in-law, Deb (Jeff) Javurek of Chicgo, IL. Mother-in-law, Dolores Petz of Chicago, IL. Nieces and nephews, Athan (dj) Vinolus, Leslie (Jack) Bruff, David (Barb) Kline, Douglass Kline and Jason and Jaclyn Javurek. His special friend, Jean Mason. Great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Theodore Kline in 2008 and Constance Vinolus in 1988.
Jack’s family wishes to thank the staff at Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center and Eddy Village Green for their compassionate care given to Jack over the last several years. Thank you to the family of the late Bernadette Coomaraswamy for their friendship and including Jack in all of their adventures while at Marjorie Doyle.

Committal Services will be held on Friday April 22, 2022 at 11:00AM at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY with military honors.
