Obituary of Renaldo Jose Taylor

Renaldo Jose Taylor, 69, of Fonda passed away on March 30, 2022 at Albany Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in the Bronx, NY on September 18, 1952, he is the son of the late William M. and Cynthia L. Mayers Taylor. 

He is survived by his loving wife with whom he united in marriage with on August 22, 2001 Lucille Mary Schultz Taylor of Fonda, his brother Guillermo and his wife Lourdes Taylor of California, his sisters Zelda Brailsford of Amsterdam, Lolita Taylor of Fonda, Antonia and her husband Walter Paul Taylor-Bebirian of Forest Hills, NY, Margaret Schultz of Amsterdam, and brother in laws Edwin Morales of Amsterdam, and Edward Schultz of Amsterdam. Survived also by his nieces and nephews Regina Jamie Sheehan, Tammy Schultz, Mindy Schultz, Joseph Morales, Kristina Morales-Hall, EJ Schultz, Cyndi-Leeane Taylor, Maria Brailsford, Ligeia Lamb, Lauren Hall, and Samuel Paul Schultz. Renaldo is survived also by his grandnieces and grandnephews Audrey, Colin, Landyn, Georgania, Cathalia, and Christian all of Connecticut. 

During his lifetime Renaldo was a toll collector for the New York State Thruway Authority here in Amsterdam for 32 years, retiring in 2012. Renaldo enjoyed listening to music playing on the computer and was an avid Jets and Yankees fan, but most of all enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. During his youth Renaldo was an altar boy for his family parish St. Margaret Mary in the Bronx for many years.  

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 on Wednesday April 6, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 7, 2022 at 11am at The Historical St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Fr. Juanito Asprec officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot of the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson. 

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Renaldo may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
