Obituary of Robert L. Bergmann

Robert L. Bergmann, age 90, of Saratoga Springs, formerly of Gloversville and Johnstown, died Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Wesley Health Center, Saratoga Springs.

He was born May 13, 1931 in Riceville, Town of Mayfield, the son of the late Louis and Edith (Montanye) Bergmann. He was a graduate of Gloversville High School class of 1950. He married Kathleen (Rumrill) Bergmann on July 21, 1956. 

Bob dedicated 36 years in the US Air Force and the 109th NYS Air National Guard, retiring in 1989. His love for flying led him to a wonderful flying career as a Flight Engineer on C97 and C130 aircrafts. 

He was a member of the 109th Retired Alumni Association of Scotia and a Life-Member of Concordia Singing Society of Gloversville. He has fond memories of both constructing and sharing good times at "Camp Temporary" in Benson, NY.

Bob leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Kathleen M. Bergmann; his devoted children, Todd R. Bergmann and Sari M. Stewart (John); six loving grandchildren, Kristine Dutcher (Erik), Brandon Stewart, Brittany Stewart (Brandon LeFevre), Bradley Stewart, Brian Stewart and Brody Stewart (Tristen); three precious great-grandchildren, Northern Dutcher, Wyatt Dutcher and Andi Stewart; special friend Roger "Pood" Warner; sister-in-law Elizabeth Malicki (Robert); brother-in-law Marvin Rumrill; as well as several treasured nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 pm Wednesday, March 30 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville;  where a Funeral Service will take place at 11 am Thursday with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
