Obituary of Melva M. Raym

Mrs. Melva M. Raym, 97, of Clinton, New York died peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2022 surrounded by her family.  Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 6, 1924 she was the daughter of the late William and Lela Patterson McClumpha. She graduated in 1940 from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. 

On December 23, 1944 she was united in marriage to J. Wesley Raym.  That union was blessed with 44 years until his passing on November 30, 1988.  She was also predeceased by her sister Marjorie. 

Melva was employed by Agway as a bookkeeper, working in several different offices throughout the course of her career. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.  She will be missed by all who knew her. 

Survivors include her children, William Raym and Claudia (Tom) Wattles; four grandsons, Stephen (Naomi) Wattles, David (Kate Doyle) Wattles, Willis Raym and Ryan (Stacey) Kripp; three great granddaughters, Mackenzie, Riley and Tessa; and two great great granddaughters, Sierra and Aspen.  

A Graveside Service will take place in the Summer of 2022 in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville, NY.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The American Cancer Society www.cancer.org  or Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166.
