Obituary of Kelly A. Blackwood

Mrs. Kelly A. Blackwood, age 60, of Johnstown, New York, died on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at her home, in the company of her beloved family.

She was born on April 4, 1961 in Amsterdam, New York, the daughter of Francis and Eila (Butler) Charles. She attended the Johnstown High School, and was later employed as a cook by the Holiday Inn of Johnstown. She was excellent at interior design and organizing things, from her home and flower garden, to family gatherings and social events. She enjoyed painting, crafting, and making things. Kelly was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who lived for her family

Kelly is survived by her husband: Duane Robert Blackwood; her children: Justin (Whitney) Blackwood, Channing Blackwood, Amanda (Thomas) Mullins, and Sawyer (Amanda) Blackwood; her grandchildren: Jackson, Evan, Abbie, Kyle, Jase, Adam, Amara, and Vanessa; her siblings: Kim Charles-Rubscha, Karen Longfritz, and Richard (Teri) Charles; her brother-in-law: Jimmy Corapi; and her mother-in-law: Erma Blackwood.

She was predeceased by her parents: Francis and Eila Charles, her daughter: Jacqueline Blackwood; her brother: Michael Charles, her sister: Kathleen Corapi; and her father-in-law: Lester Blackwood, Sr.

The Blackwood family will receive relatives and friends for a period of visitation from 4:00PM to 6:00PM, on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
