Obituary of Eugenio Gonzalez
Eugenio "Jeno" Gonzalez Jr., 63, of Gloversville, NY, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2022 at the Capstone Center for Rehab & Nursing. Jeno was born in Amsterdam on January 1, 1959 to Eugenio and Marcelina Gonzalez.
After graduating from High School, Jeno joined the United States Navy. He proudly served his country from 1978 until 1982. Following his service in the Navy, he began working in the construction industry, where he drove trucks for many companies until his retirement.
Jeno loved his family dearly, and cherished every moment he spent with his grandchildren. He loved to go camping and fishing, he always enjoyed cooking and barbecuing for anyone that was around, and was known to be the life of any party he went to. Jeno spent his time on his own listening to Rock and Roll, and watching Westerns.
He is survived by his loving family, which includes his mother, Marcelina Gonzalez; his children, Diahanna M. (Chris) Collar, Eugenio (Stephanie) Gonzales III, and Johnathan Gonzales; his grandchildren, “Baby Girl” Valerie, Hannah, Cody, and Alexis; his siblings, Luis Gonzalez, Elizbeth Gracesqui, and William Gonzalez; his special nephew, Luis Gracesqui; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in passing by his father, Eugenio Gonzalez Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 10 until 11 in the morning at the Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, New York. A Memorial Mass will follow the visiting hour at 11:15 in the morning with Fr. Juanito Asprec presiding, and Military Honors for Jeno will follow Mass.
