I was sad to hear of Garry's passing. We were in grade school together and graduated from high school in the same class. I will always remember him as being one of the many class clowns. We had such good times! My sincere condolences to the family.

My deepest sympathies to Garry’s family and friends. Garry and I were school classmates from K thru HS graduation. We were also Sunday School classmates and MYF members together at Scotia Methodist Church. The memory I will share is one that I have reminisced about with my own family over the many years since my childhood. There was a dear elderly lady named Mrs. King that lived upstairs in a two-family on a Scotia street that Garry and I and other children often played near. She still had ice deliver to an icebox on her open back porch. And we children loved to clamor up the back stairs to watch the iceman make his delivery. On one such occasion, Garry, another neighborhood friend, and I followed Mrs King into her apartment and asked her if we could sing a church hymn to her. Garry loved to sing as did I and I can still see her sitting in her rocker as we serenaded her with our favorite church hymns. I’d guess we were about 8 or 9 years old. It is one of my favorite childhood memories. While I lived out of state for many years after high school, I have no doubt that Garry’s life was lived with this same generosity of spirit and song comforting many.
