Obituary of Larry F. O'Brien

Mr. Larry F. O’Brien, 82, of Newark, Delaware died suddenly on February 28, 2022 surrounded by his family.  Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 4, 1939 he was the only son of the late Fred and Nettie Victory O’Brien. 

A lifelong area resident, Larry graduated from Wilbur Lynch High School and Albany Business College.  He served in the Army Reserves for six years. Larry began his career at First Trust Bank and was employed by St. Clare's Hospital Employee Federal Credit Union at the time of his retirement. 

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Joan H. Ripley O’Brien; two sons, Michael O’Brien and his wife Jennifer, and David O’Brien and his wife Heather; six grandchildren, Connor, Jared (Emily), Carter, Caroline, Joshua and Eliza; two great granddaughters, Alice and Aurora; cousins and many friends. 

A Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday, March, 8, 2022 at 6p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held prior to the service beginning at 4p.m.  Burial will take place at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery.
