Obituary of James J Anadio

James “Jim” J. Anadio age 61 of Johnstown died unexpectedly on January 24, 2022, at his home.

He was born on April 12, 1960, in Gloversville, the son of the late Joseph F. Anadio and Betty Houghteling Anadio, who survives. He was a graduate of Gloversville High School. Jim was a Sales Consultant with Ginsberg’s and worked many years in the restaurant food distribution. He worked for many years for Quandt’s Food Distribution Company in Amsterdam. Throughout his life Jim made many friends who loved him dearly. He was an avid golfer and looked forward to weekend outings with his special friends. He looked forward to golf tournaments which raised money for special causes. Jim loved spending time in the sun and being poolside or at the beach with his sisters, dad, mom, children, nieces, and other family members. He looked forward to tropical vacations spent with special friends and loved ones. Jim was often lovingly teased by friends and family for the meticulously care he provided to his lawn and the landscaping around his home which he took great pride.

Most importantly Jim was a devoted father to his sons, James J. Anadio II, of West Warwick, Rhode Island and Andrew S. Anadio, of Johnstown who survive. He will forever be in their hearts. He survived by his son’s mother, Claudette Moore-Geesler, of Lasselsville a sister MaryJo VanWicklen (Michael) of Amsterdam, Michele A. Maye (James), of Gloversville. A niece, Bridgett Walrath, of Amsterdam, Brienna Malagisi, of Gloversville and a nephew Eric Maye, of Malta. He is also survived by his very special friend Maryann O’Brien, of Johnstown, many aunts, uncles, cousins who always held a special place in his heart.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-6pm on Wednesday February 2, 2022 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville, NY 12078.  A funeral home service will be held immediately following at 6pm with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams, Hospice Chaplain officiating.
