Obituary of David Palmeter
Mr. David Alan “Swamper” Palmeter, 58, of Gloversville, New York, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville following an illness.
He was born on February 24, 1963 in Little Falls, New York, the son of Raymond and Myrtle (Stowell) Palmeter. He attended the Stratford Central high school. Upon completing his time at school, he discovered that he was handy and good at fixing things. Swamper was self-employed as a jack-of-all-trades, doing odd jobs and tinkering for those who needed him. He held a membership with the Mt. Carmel AA, and attended regularly. David was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Additionally he loved playing his PlayStation, watching WWE, and enjoying sports, especially football, and he proudly rooted for the Buffalo Bills. He loved music, and played both the guitar and harmonica. Swamper will be missed riding around town on his bicycle, which he rode everywhere.
David is survived by his sons, Austin and Doug Palmeter; his siblings Mary (Ismael Santiago) Palmeter, Fred (Robin) Palmeter, and Raymond, Jr. (Christine) Palmeter; his partner, Donna Zuckerwar; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his furbaby, Mow-Mow.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Services for David will be held privately, at the convenience of his family.
