Obituary of Bruce R. Vickers

Bruce Robert Vickers, 59, of Perth, NY died peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2022.  Born on June 8, 1962 he was the son of Clifton E. Vickers, Sr. and the late Helen Caldwell Vickers. 

A lifelong area resident, Bruce was a 1980 graduate of Perth Central School.  He enlisted in the United States Army and served proudly for four years.  He was employed as a heavy equipment operating engineer for the City of Amsterdam for many years. 

Bruce will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  

Survivors include his father, Clifton E. Vickers, Sr. Perth; his siblings, Andrea Vickers (Steve) Portland, Oregon; Clifton E. Vickers Jr. (Theresa) Perth and Douglas Hancock (Stacey) Mayfield. Bruce leaves behind, his loving companion, Carolyn “Bo” Carter, Perth and her children, Ben and Joseph Carter.

Bruce had a special place in his heart for his niece/goddaughter Jacquelyn Bryant (Philip) Weymouth, MA; and nephew Nicholas Vickers (Ashley Fiacco) Perth. He is also survived by one great nephew, August Bryant, Weymouth, MA and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. 

A Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. O. Burial will take place in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
