I’ll always remember Joe for his hard work and dedication to the people he served in the city and county government as well through his work at WCSS AND Cranesville Block Radio. I met him when I was doing my internship in 2011. I later came to work for him hosting Racing Round Up and trying to revive Swamp Shop in 2013. Joe will always hold a spot in my heart and my radio broadcast journey.

I'm reflecting on Joe's adventures on Genesee lane when I had my business in the A frame bldg. He had his helicopter land in the field between Genesee lane and the vets office. I stepped outside and out of the helicopter comes Joe and William Shatner. Waving and smiling as they continued over to the radio station. He sure was a down to earth soul with many grand adventures. Will miss your smiles and stories!!!!!!

So sad to learn of Joe's passing. We grew up nearby in the West End. His families restaurant was next door to my dad's market so we shared a number of childhood adventures. There were walks to the downtown theaters as well as trips to the local electronics supply store for various "experiments." As a business owner Joe would later become my employer at several different segments of my life. I can recall many instances of his kindness and generosity to myself and family. He cared deeply for Amsterdam as evidenced by the downtown Christmas lights and the summer fireworks. Unlike some others however, he never left his community for "greener pastures." There have been others with a like community spirit but sadly it seems their number is in the decline.
