Obituary of Mary D. Brooker

 

     Mary D. Brooker, 67, of Amsterdam, passed away on Monday January 3, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam following a brief illness.

     Born in Amsterdam, NY on June 26, 1954 a daughter of Burdette and Eleanor Riano Brooker.  She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools.

     Mary was employed for at time at Amsterdam Printing and Litho Co. in Amsterdam.  She enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was an avid Cincinnati Bengals Football Fan and  loved watching football and various sporting events.  Mary also enjoyed collecting Native American artifacts and was an animal lover and loved her pets, her cat “Bengal” and her German Shepherd “Heba”.

     Survivors include her mother, Eleanor Riano Brooker of Amsterdam.  Her siblings, Bert (Irene) Brooker of Broadalbin, NY, John S. (Lynn) Brooker of Amsterdam, Theresa A. (Travis Stanton) Singleton of Hagaman and Melanie Yowell of Amsterdam and Lisa (Rex) Davis of Amsterdam.  Her best friend, Laura Lobdell and her godchild, Eris Stanton.    Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. 

    Mary was predeceased by her dad, Burdette Brooker and a brother- in- law Michael Yowell in 2009.  

     There are no funeral services scheduled at this time.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery Count SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
